Meeting with your guide for a tour of the city by transport: discovery of the Red Square, the St-Basil Cathedral, the Gum, the Kremlin, the Bolshoi Theatre, The Manezhnaya, Tverskaya street, and the mount Vorobievy with its superb panorama and finally the view of the Novodevichiy monastery. Then, visit the St-Basil cathedral near the Red Square.

Guided visit to the Kremlin and its cathedrals (by foot with your guide): Former residence of the czars, the country's largest and most famous fortress, the Kremlin is a collection of palaces and cathedrals, some of which date back to the 15th century. Its walls are also home to as many as 54 burials of former czars and many other curiosities (In option: Visit the Kremlin Armoury).  Not far away from it is the impressive Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, destroyed by Stalin, rebuilt as a pool in front of the cathedral’s entrance, then identically reconstructed in the 2000’s to the original edifice, and opened for worship upon completion.

In the morning, guided tour of your choice : 

Choice 1 - guided tour of the Kolomenskoye estate. From the 14th century, the Kolomenskoye estate was one of the places of residence of the Great Princes and later of the Tsars. 

Choice 2 - Guided Tour of the Pushkin Museum. The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts is considered one of the most important museums in Russia and certainly represents one of the pillars of the world of European and World arts.

Departure for Sergeyev Possad with your driver (without guide). Visit of the Monastery of the Trinity-Saint-Serge with a local French-speaking guide : listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sergeyev Possad is today the seat of the Russian Patriarchate and takes a high place of pilgrimage for the faithful who come to visit the sarcophagus of the saint. It was in this monastery, founded in 1340 by Serge de Radonege, Saint Patron of Russia, that Boris Godunov was buried and that Peter The Great took refuge during the Streltsy revolt.

Free time for lunch on site. Back to Moscow, and  free late afternoon.

In the evening, transfer to the train station to catch your train to St. Petersburg (optional: take the fast train (4h) in the afternoon, and spend an extra night in St. Petersburg).

Departure for a guided tour of St. Isaac Cathedral and   St. Savior on the Spilled Blood Cathedral (a breathtaking climb to the collonade of St. Isaac Cathedral can be confirmed in advance upon request).The Orthodox Cathedral of St-Isaac, built in the nineteenth century under the reigns of Alexander I, Nicholas I, and Alexander II, had remained the center of religious life in St-Petersburg until the Revolution. The third-largest cathedral in Europe, it has a magnificent view of the city and of the Neva river from its main dome  which is 102 meters high. Built by Alexander III on the spot where his father, Alexander II, was murdered in 1881, St. Savior on the Spilled Blood Cathedral was constructed in  Neo-Russian style. Along with St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, the St. Savior on the Spilled Blood Cathedral is one of the most picturesque and most visited museums in St. Petersburg today.

Departure by public transport/on foot with your guide to take the hydrofoil to Peterhof (available from May to September) NB! Hydrofoil ride may be canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions. The Grand Palace of Peterhof was built by Peter the Great in honor of the Victory over the Swedes. Its called ¨the Russian Versailles¨ and some experts say that it even overshadows it in luxury and magnificence. Peterhof is located on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland which allows tourists to get there by boat. Peterhof's centerpiece is the Grand Cascade, a symphony of over  200 magnificent bronze statues and 75 fountains which are open from May to October.

Departure by transport for a guided tour of Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo) by car: Tsarskoye Selo which is also called the “Imperial Village” was founded in the 18th century as a summer residence of the Tsars, it was renamed "Pushkin" after the Revolution in honour of Russia's greatest poet. A must visit place in Pushkin is the Catherine Palace and its wonderful Amber Chamber. (Optional: visit of the Pavlosk Palace, UNESCO World Heritage Site.)

Pavlovsk Palace and Park Ensemble are the monuments of Russian architecture of the XVIII and early XIX century. The Great Palace at Pavlovsk is famous for its interiors, unique collection of furniture, sculptures, and paintings. The Pavlovsk Park is called an English-style park and since its creation, it is known as the best-landscaped park in the world.
