Visit
The Russian Museum of Meals
- City : Moscow
- Season : All seasons
- Duration : 4 h
You will make your acquaintance with Vassilisa-la-Belle, the heroine Russian countess in full traditional costume who will show the museum to you. You will take your place around a rustic table to take part in a Russian meal cooked in an ancient wooden Russian oven. The hosts will talk about traditional Russian cuisine and the important role of the oven in the history of Russian cuisine.
After the meal, Vassilissa will teach you to prepare plushki, the celebrated Russian pastries made with cinnamon, in a friendly atmosphere. While the pastries are baking, the hosts will present a small interactive play “The Czar and the Pea Jelly” to you, accompanied by an accordion and songs from Russian folklore.
This Russian adventure will end with the eating of the plushki accompanied with a cup of “Ivan” tea served from a samovar, with honey and home-made jam, before the return trip to Moscow.
