The Hermitage Museum, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most important museums in the world. Since 2014, the famous collection of Impressionist paintings of 37 Matisse works, 31 works by Picasso, 7 Monets, and not counting those works by Gauguin, Renoir, Sisley, and Cezanne, has moved into the General Staff Building located on the other side of the Palace Square.
