The Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art is the premier museum of contemporary art in St-Petersburg, and is the largest museum of contemporary art in Russia. It opened its doors in 2010, and houses a collection of more than 2300 objets d’art of which the paintings, the sculptures, and the installations are created by Russian artists from the second half of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century.
The purpose of the museum is not only for the promotion of contemporary art but also for the creation of contemporary art. In collaboration with different artists, the U-space Project has permitted its visitors to undergo a uniquely individual emotional and psychological experience.
