Dog-Trekking Tour and Russian Banya Experience
- City : St. Petersburg
- Season : Summer Special
- Duration : 7 h
Let’s discover a calm verdant space in the vicinity of Saint-Petersburg. By a lake in the Russian forest, a sled dog trainer or kayur will warmly welcome you and introduce you to more than 30 huskies.
Then, you will go for a trek with the dogs, this is a memorable experience which is very popular among Russian people during summer. For this dog-trekking on a 5-km route, the professional kayur will accompany you, and you will have a husky to whom you will be tied up with special equipment. Guided by the huskies through the nature and breathtaking sceneries, you will halt around a campfire for a lunch break. During this Russian traditional meal, you will relish grilled sausages, as well as baked potatoes with cheese, bread and vegetables, and on top of that herbal tea and berry juice to go with. Whilst you eat, the dog leader will tell you the story of the husky breed and his experience as an explorer in the Russian Arctic.
At the end of the trek, you may cool down by enjoying a ride in a rowboat on the lake, while gazing at nature around.
And finally, it will be time for you to try the banya, the Russian equivalent of the sauna. You'll experience two types of banya:
barrel-banya, the perfect balance between hot water steam and natural wood essences. You may enjoy a summer shower or take a dip into the lake so that you cool off again.
phyto-banya, in which you will get totally relaxed thanks to scents of many natural oils and plant extracts. The ideal to unwind your body and mind, and to enjoy a healthy sleep.
Once this memorable experience is over, you will head back to Saint-Petersburg to enjoy the rest of your stay.
